The Stone Court Arrival

The wall does the work here. Sadarahalli granite, chiselled and coursed, runs the length of the hall so the late light rakes across it; a teak console floats off that wall with nothing underneath but a shadow gap and a warm strip; and one brass line in the kota floor walks you from the door to the courtyard. Everything else is a jaali, a frangipani and a bowl of water.

The pivot needs its floor box set before the builder lays the kota
The light well drains to the building's own stack; nothing new is cut
