What a living room gets from us

  • A Television Wall That Does Not Run the Room

    A media wall in fluted oak, lime plaster or stone with the screen set into it, the boxes in a ventilated console and every cable gone — so the room is composed around the seating and the window rather than the black rectangle.

  • Seating Planned on the Plan

    Sofa depth, the distance to the screen, a chair that faces a person rather than a wall — laid out on your floor plan before a piece is chosen, so a fourteen-foot room does not get a nine-foot sofa.

  • Storage That Reads as Architecture

    A library wall, a low console, a crockery run shared with the dining: joinery in IS:710 ply with shutters in matt PU, veneer or laminate, hung true to the ceiling line and finished on a factory line.

  • Light in Three Layers

    Ambient from a cove or a plain ceiling with spots, task at the reading chair, accent on the one wall you want looked at — all warm white, all dimmable, wired before the walls close.

  • Curtains, Rug and the Wall Finish

    Linen on iron rods, a rug sized to the seating group, a wall in lime plaster, panelling or paint — the three decisions that decide whether a room feels finished or furnished.

  • The Living–Dining Line

    In most Bangalore plans the two share a wall or none at all. One palette, one lighting plan and one floor treatment make them a single room with two uses instead of two rooms in one.

Every Line Named

The proposal lists the joinery, the wall finish, the ceiling, the lighting and the curtains as separate lines, each with brand, grade and warranty, so the room can be compared quote to quote rather than by its total.

Made in a Factory, Fitted in Days

Joinery is cut and finished on a factory line — IS:710 ply carcasses, HDHMR shutters, Hettich or Häfele hardware — and arrives finished, so a wall of it goes up in days rather than being built around your furniture for weeks.

Before you begin

What does living room interior design cost in Bangalore?
The living rooms in the Design Boutique are priced at ₹2L – ₹11.4L as drawn — the media or library wall, the panelling or plaster, ceiling, lighting and curtains — with the sofa, tables, rug and lamps itemised separately. Where a room lands depends on the wall it is built around: plaster and spots at one end, a fluted limestone fireplace wall at the other. Rooms are designed within whole-home projects, which begin from ₹11.99L; within one, the scope and finish of each room is yours to set.
How should a TV wall be designed in a Bangalore apartment?
Set the screen into the wall rather than on it: a fluted oak or plaster panel with a recess for the screen, a shallow ventilated console below for the boxes, and conduits run before the wall closes so no cable is ever seen. Keep the screen off the window wall, where the afternoon light will wash it out, and size it to the seating distance rather than to the wall.
Can the living and dining be designed as one room?
They usually should be. One palette of stone, timber, paint and textile, one lighting plan and one floor treatment make the two read as a single room with two uses; a crockery wall or a low console can mark the change without a partition.
Do you supply the sofa and the loose furniture?
When asked. Sofas, tables, rugs and lamps are itemised on every design and quoted separately from the built work, so you can take all of it, some of it, or keep pieces you own; the studio sources and places whatever it is asked to, and styles the room at handover.
Can I see my living room before I commit?
